Amy Johnson is a graduate of the Second City Training Center in Detroit, MI, where she met and joined the all-female troupe Why Dad's Mad.  Amy then went on to become one of the co-founders of Motor City Improv in June of 1999.

Amy's other stage and performance credits include  voice-overs for a national advertising campaign and work with the Detroit Ensemble Theater productions of Our Town as Emily and 12 Angry Jurors as Juror Number 2.

After a short break from the troupe to play the role of Donna Marsala in the critically acclaimed Tony and Tina's Wedding, Amy returned to the line-up in the Fall of 2002.  In her time with Motor City Improv, Amy co-wrote and performed in the following revues: His and Hurricane, The Bare Wit Project, MCI vs. Second City and Buffet for Vampire Slayers.
