Matthew
S. Gannaway is a native of Grosse Pointe Michigan, and
may be recognized from a variety of productions from stage to
screen. Some of Matt's film credits
include, Hardball, *61, The Garden of Eve, Garage, The Red Line,
The Henry Ford Racing Story. Television credits include, WBs
Switchplay Tv, Me tv, Smart TV, and he is currently an actor and
writer for HBO's Sketchpad. Matthew has also appeared on many
of the stages in the Metro Detroit area such as The Gem Theatre,
Meadowbrook Theatre, Detroit Ensemble Theatre, The Planet Ant, The
Wunderground Theatre, The Century, Detroit Rep. Theatre, The Macomb
Center for the Performing Arts and The Second City.
In his years at the Second
City, Matthew has written and performed in over ten original
shows, and he is the director of the critically acclaimed Osamalama
Ding-Dong. Matthew is proud to be with Motor
City Improv where he has written and performed in: The
Downtown Ho Ho Ho Down, Buffets for Vampire Slayers, Bringin' Home
the Bacon, Drai Hoomph and Naughty or Nice. Matt
co-wrote and performed in "Skeleton Parents" with
two former castmates and long time friends which was nominated best
original comedy of 2002 by Us (unfortunatly he did not win, but he
is currently in pre-production for Skeleton Parents the Movie.)
Currently, Matthew is an
actor and a teacher at The Historic Marquis Theatre in
Northville. Where he most recently graced the stage as the emperor
in The Emperors New Clothes. Matthew would like to thank all
of Motor City Improv's loyal
fans for all of their support. As always Matthew's performance and
efforts are dedicated to Jeff Dean Weiler and Frank Gillons Jr. - You
